Maintenance has begun for update 4.0 on Fortnite: Battle Royale and to say the news outlets are going a little bit do lally is an understatement!
What we know so far is that the comet has hit and created a new point of interest called hop rocks, where glowing rocks are scattered through the area that when consumed allow for low gravity. This reminds me of rocket jumping in Quake, Doom, Unreal etc so should allow for some interesting aerial battles.
Rumours are pouring in that a new type of turret trap is going to be available which will be similar to the turret in Save the World but hopefully not too overpowered otherwise we’ll see some major nerfing.
In addition to the above some major fixes are being implemented;
- Frame-rate drops caused by meteorite hits will be a thing of the past.
- Replay renaming that was mainly broken for PS4 & XBone players.
- Fixes to the collinsion engine to stop players falling through structures built by enemy players that have met their untimely death.
- Game crashed on mobile will be addressed in the update later on today also
There will be further information as the udpate progresses and EPIC Games release more through their official twitter feed
